Note: All screen shots provided in the instructions are from test accounts created for this purpose
Log in to your account. Enter your email address and password and click the Log In button.
Confirm you are on the Dashboard page.
At the top right corner you should see Welcome (your name). You are securely logged in.
On the Navigation Bar, click Filing Center and then Upload Forms.
On this page you can either Upload Tax Information by an Excel Template (available for all forms on the site)-- By using your QuickBooks Software to upload your 1099-MISC tax information Or IRS Pub 1220.
The Excel is the most common upload.
Note: if this is your first time uploading from Excel you will first need to download the Tax Forms Template.
Click on the Tax Forms Template link to download the template (Continue on to Step 4 if doing an Excel Upload)
If you are using your QuickBooks software to upload your 1099-MISC tax information click the Install button to install the QuickBooks Export App (Skip to Step 13 if using the QuickBooks Export App)
Click Open (this will open the excel template).
You can also save this template to your computer for later use if needed.
Select the form you are uploading tax information for by clicking the form name tab at the bottom of the screen (i.e. 1099-MISC, 1099-DIV, etc.)
Note: all forms available on the site have a template in which you can upload information.
Enter your payer and recipient information into the labeled columns.
Line 2 is the column name/section name of each part of the form you need to fill out
Line 3 is a sample of information entered that you can follow.
All your data must be entered below line 11 starting on line 12.
Once finished filling out all the information needed – save the file to your desktop.
Once you have completed filling out the form return to the Upload Information page on the website.

Select the file you just created when entering all your information into the template then click Open.
The file will automatically upload.
Step 9 (cont’d)
Once complete your file name will show above the Import Data. If the indicator just to the left of the file name is green you can then click the Import Data button. If there are no errors the forms will automatically be saved to your Forms in Progress page and the process will automatically direct you there.
If there are any errors in the forms you will see the review page which gives you the option to click the edit icon to the left to correct errors or to delete the form with errors. Once the errors have been corrected you can then click the Submit Forms button which will create the forms and save them in your Forms in Progress page.
NOTE: If you have multiple errors you can run the error report by clicking the Run Error Report button at the bottom right.
You will be navigated to the Forms in Progress page where you will see the form(s) you just imported listed in the grid.
Select the forms you want to add to cart, choose your service option and click Add to Cart button.
